Own the technical architecture for cross-border payments, fiat accounts, cards, ledgers, clearing, settlement and related financial infrastructure.
Design and evolve core domain models including Customer, Account, Ledger, Balance, Transaction, Payment, Settlement, Reconciliation and Risk.
Establish a shared transaction and ledger architecture that supports consistent, accurate, traceable and auditable financial data.
Design integrations with banks, payment institutions, card networks and other financial providers, using standard internal abstractions.
Design highly available, reliable and scalable core systems, addressing idempotency, concurrency, duplicate transactions, retries, compensation, state transitions and message consistency.
Contribute to funds protection, access controls, audit logs, maker-checker workflows, exception handling and controls over critical operations.
Work with product, operations, compliance and business teams to turn complex business rules into stable, reusable system capabilities.
Lead key technical reviews, architecture governance, technical debt management and major technical decisions.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline.
Strong software engineering and system design skills, with experience architecting large, complex systems.
A strong grasp of distributed systems, microservices, messaging, databases, caching and API design.
A deep understanding of transactions, consistency, idempotency, state machines, compensation and event-driven architecture.
The ability to design reliable ledger and transaction systems, with close attention to financial data accuracy and audit requirements.
Strong domain modelling and abstraction skills, turning complex business requirements into stable, clear and reusable system models.
The ability to understand payments, banking, cards, clearing and settlement processes, and identify technical risks and system boundaries.
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues across systems and teams.
The ability to use AI and other tools for engineering and analysis while exercising independent technical judgement and validating designs and results.
